Celebrating Kristin Ferge, 2026 Woman of Distinction
Each year, the Women of Distinction recognizes the local women whose leadership and accomplishments help improve the quality of life in Waukesha County while inspiring other women and girls to do the same. While the many women honored through this 42-year tradition come from many different professions and paths, their passion helps shape the future of Waukesha County.
This year, we are excited to introduce our first honoree: Kristin Ferge.
Brookfield’s Kristin Ferge is a visionary executive whose leadership, service, and commitment to advancing women reflect the highest ideals of professional and community impact. She is recognized not only for her strategic and financial expertise, but also for her generosity of time, talent, and mentorship—qualities that influence beyond her formal roles.
As President and Chief Financial Officer of Capri Communities, Wisconsin’s largest senior living and affordable housing organization, Kristin oversees 43 communities across the state. She brings deep proficiency in enterprise strategy, capital structure optimization, organizational growth, audit and governance leadership, financial oversight, and risk management. Under her leadership, Capri has strengthened operations, elevated service quality, and navigated complex industry and economic environments with resilience and purpose.
Kristin’s career includes executive roles at Brookdale Senior Living, Alterra Healthcare, and KPMG, where she cultivated a foundation of financial discipline, operational insight, and values-based leadership. She holds a BBA in Accounting from Marquette University, an MS in Healthcare Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and is a CPA.
Her commitment to service is equally noteworthy. Kristin serves on the board of NeurAxis, Inc., a publicly traded company, where she is Audit Chair and a member of the Compensation and Nominating Committees. She also serves on the board of Citizens Bank. Her nonprofit leadership includes roles with Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha–Jefferson–Rock County and the MMAC Leadership Council.
Kristin is committed to advancing women and elevating diverse voices. Through TEMPO’s Emerging Women Leaders program, she mentored rising female professionals. At Marquette University, she guided women accounting majors as they charted their career paths. She also forged a partnership between DSHA High School and Capri, creating intergenerational service opportunities that foster empathy, connection, and leadership in young women.
Her accomplishments have earned significant recognition, including Wisconsin Titan 100, Top 50 Women in Finance, Milwaukee Business Journal CFO of the Year, and 40 Under 40.
Kristin not only excels as a senior executive—she lifts others as she climbs. She embodies strong, compassionate, purpose‑driven leadership and serves as an inspiring role model for women at every stage of their careers.
